Hemochromatosis

Iron build up in liver

Hemochromatosis is an inherited disease that causes an iron build-up or disorder.  The body is affected when an excess of iron is deposited in various organs of the body including the liver.  Hemochromatosis leads to iron overload in organs because the chemical properties in the iron cannot be broken down and eliminated properly.
